Taking influence from artists including Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Tame Impala and James Blake, moa moa came together in the summer of 2019, pairing unconventional songwriting with pop-leaning sensibilities. Assembling moa moa alongside housemates Dan Byrne, Connor James and Matt Taylor, songwriter and producer James Ratcliffe was obsessive about the desire to be ever-changing, unpredictable and ambitious with their approach to songwriting.

The band’s first single, ‘Yellow Jacket’, is the first of three to be released in 2020, and offers a bold first taste of things to come.
